Foremen and superintendents

How these were drawn

After Rivera's Detroit Industry murals, where women appear only as symbols. Here she is at the gate at six in the morning, calling names. The grip on the crest is wrist to wrist — the hold you use to pull someone up, not a handshake.

Buying for yourself

Embroidered crewnecks and hoodies with the title and year left blank, so the piece says what she actually is.

Buying it as a gift

Crew and committee orders from twelve units, with proofs before anything prints. Children buy the ornament; mentees buy the mug.
